First Traditional Saddle, leather prep work in progress.


So my last saddle gave me some experience with tooling which has given me the confidence to go all out on tooling this larger Traditional scale saddle. I chose a flowery design with a lined background, above is a picture of the design transferred to my leather and ready for carving. 


Here are some progress shots of the finished carving stage, ready for beveling and other tooling. 

 
 Once beveled, the pieces begin to look like below:




The final stage is dying and finishing.




Now, my leather is ready for assembly, more progress pics to come.
